In celebration of 20 great years together, Stage Door Canteen proudly announces gigs at three of Chicago's premier venues! We'll be traveling to the Second City by rail, on the old Lake Shore Limited Line.

The Stage Door Canteen is no ordinary swing band. Stage Door Canteen has for more than a decade brought high style, elegance, and unbridled energy to special events all over the Northeast - and beyond. The band swings the classic hits of the Big Band era but also gets the dance floor grooving with Motown, Van Morrison, the Beatles and much more.

Fresh energy, polished professionalism, and pure energy excitement mark every Stage Door Canteen show, from it's monthly residency at Liam Maguire's Irish Pub and Restaurant in Falmouth, MA to fine hotels on Cape Cod and beyond... to Dublin, Ireland's most noted jazz club, the Sugar Club.

A 14-piece Big Band, Stage Door Canteen is led by alto saxophonist Roger Gamache, a graduate of Berklee College of Music. Our featured vocalist is Deanna Dustin Kidd, a Berkelee faculty member.

The original Stage Door Canteen was a nightclub for servicemen in New York City run by the American Theatre Wing during WWII. The troops were entertained by the top performers of the time including some of the most swinging Big Bands of the '40s: the Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey and Count Basie Bands to name a few.
